There are many food/nutrition issues in todays society. One really made me think and wouldn't surprise me if happened often but I believe it is a biggie that we all should be aware of..
When picking up items in a grocery store, I don't know about you, but I always look at the expiriation date and make sure I am purchasing the same thing. Well ranked number 2 out of 5 major nutrition problems in today's society is the fact that some of the foods we buy are not marked as the right expiration date and isn't really what we think we're buying. How disgusting!!!!
So broken down version.. you could be in a store buying some mashed potatoes (or anything) and there could be something else in that container or it could even be old.. how messed up is this??? Why be so lazy to the point that you don't know what you're putting out there for innocent consumers to purchase?! Of course the majority of people in America are so lazy that they do not care how the work is done or what conditions they just want it done quickly..
I know we can't worry about buying food items everytime we're in stores but it is very sad to know so little people care about how they're doing their jobs and what the harm or future outcome can be on a person.
Dear Sncak Attack,
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying in this blog. I feel like the laziness in todays society does contribute to the unhealthy foods that exist. I think that greed plays a part, too. The food industries want to sell their items so badly that they will do anything to make them more appealing. Whether it be making the product last longer or making it taste better, industries are always looking for ways to inhance their sales. They do all of this without truley considering the health of the public. I liked when you said, "Why be so lazy to the point that you don't know what you're putting out there for innocent consumers to purchase". I feel like industries could have more concern for the health of their buyers. Thanks for writing!

dear Junco,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your blog. this is so messed up. i think that if people are that lazy then the don't need their job. no matter what they work as. Especially if it has to do with people's health. I think this is cruel on their part. I think they should care more about the consumer than they do. thanks for writing this blog.

dear junco,
ReplyDeleteyour post is just like everything else in this class: finding out that what we thought was true and good is actually false, and bad.
Same old song and dance, just a different day.
I've learned to never trust a label. We obviously have to buy things with labels on them, but i wouldn't trust it for anything.
It's sad that we can't trust the people who are giving us what we need to survive.
great post, thanks for writing!
